These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of crazyocr.com(the "Service"), a website and online service operated by CrazyOCR / Mathew Wu ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

1. サービスの概要

CrazyOCR provides an online optical character recognition ("OCR") and document understanding service that allows users to upload images and documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, and other supported formats) and receive machine-readable text, structured data, and optional AI-assisted analysis. The Service is provided as a web application accessible through a browser and an API for paid plans.

2. アカウント登録と利用資格

  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
  • When signing in with Google, you authorize us to receive your name, email, profile picture, and account ID as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and keep it updated.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information or that violate these Terms.

3. サブスクリプション・請求・返金

3.1 Free tier

The free tier allows up to 10 OCR requests per calendar month, up to 5 pages per document, and a maximum file size of 10 MB. Free tier results and uploaded files are retained for up to 24 hours and then automatically deleted.

3.2 Paid plans

Paid subscriptions (Basic: $19/month; Premium: $49/month) are processed by Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or yearly) until canceled. Prices are in US Dollars and may exclude taxes or fees assessed by your bank or payment method.

3.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until the period ends. We do not issue partial-month or partial-year refunds.

3.4 Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to re-charge your payment method for up to 14 days. If payment continues to fail, your subscription may be downgraded to the free tier and any data retained under the paid tier retention policy may be deleted after 30 days.

3.5 Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscriptions provided you have not used more than 10% of your monthly quota. Refund requests should be sent to billing@crazyocr.com. Refunds for renewals after the first 14 days of a new subscription are issued at our discretion.

3.6 Price changes

We may change plan prices with at least 30 days advance notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email and continue at their current price until the end of the current billing period.

3.7 API access

The REST API is available only on paid plans (Basic and Premium). API requests count toward the same monthly OCR quota as requests made from the web application — usage is shared across both channels. API keys are issued from the API Management dashboard, expire automatically 30 days after creation, and may be revoked at any time; you are responsible for keeping your keys secure and for all activity performed with them. We may throttle or rate-limit API traffic to protect service stability. The free tier does not include API access.

4. 利用規範

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Process or store material that violates any applicable law or regulation.
  • Process content you do not have the right or authority to upload (e.g. copyrighted material you do not own, third-party confidential documents without consent).
  • Process illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable content.
  • Process regulated data without our explicit written agreement, including but not limited to protected health information (HIPAA), payment card data (PCI), or government-classified information.
  • Bypass rate limits, quotas, or access restrictions by using multiple free accounts, automated scripts, or any other method.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or prompts powering the Service.
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or to provide OCR services as a white-label service without our written consent.
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or networks.
  • Upload malware, viruses, or files designed to harm or disrupt the Service.

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, blocking of access, and, where applicable, reporting to law enforcement.

5. 知的財産

  • All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (software, trademarks, logos, models, website content) are owned by CrazyOCR or our licensors.
  • You retain ownership of the documents you upload and the OCR results you receive. We make no claim of ownership over your content.
  • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely as necessary to operate and improve the Service in accordance with our Privacy Policy. See our Privacy Policy for our no-training commitment regarding your uploaded documents.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Service, except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

6. OCRの精度とサービスレベル

  • OCR output is generated by AI models. While we aim for high accuracy, no OCR system is 100% accurate. Output may contain errors, omissions, or formatting issues.
  • You are responsible for verifying OCR results before relying on them for legal, financial, medical, or other critical decisions.
  • We target a monthly uptime of at least 99.5% for paid plans but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Free tier availability is provided on a best-effort basis and may be rate-limited.
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced via the status page or email where possible.
  • CrazyOCR Big (default engine) accepts images, PDFs and Office files up to 200MB / 200 pages per document (plan limits apply) and consumes your monthly OCR quota.
  • CrazyOCR Small (on-device engine) accepts images only (PNG, JPG, WEBP, BMP, up to 10MB). It runs locally in your browser and your image is never uploaded. It has its own monthly quota: 100 runs/month on free plans, unlimited on paid plans.
  • Monthly quotas count both OCR requests and pages. API calls share the same monthly quota as web OCR — there is no separate API pool. API tasks are counted but never stored in OCR history or file storage.

7. データの保存と削除

Retention periods for uploaded documents and OCR results are described in our Privacy Policy. You may delete your documents and your account at any time from the dashboard. Account deletion permanently removes your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. 契約の終了

  • You may terminate your account at any time from the Settings page.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you materially breach these Terms (including the Acceptable Use Policy).
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, liability, dispute resolution) shall survive.

9. 免責事項

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. 責任の制限

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CRAZYOCR OR ITS OPERATORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, in which case such limitations shall apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. 補償

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CrazyOCR and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your uploaded content, or your violation of any third-party right.

12. 紛争解決と準拠法

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
  • Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at legal@crazyocr.com within 30 days.
  • If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, in the English language in Delaware, USA, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect its intellectual property rights.
  • YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS ACTION OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION AGAINST US.
  • For consumers in the EU/EEA/UK, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply and you may bring claims in your local courts.

13. 本規約の変更

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days before taking effect via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. 一般条項

  • Entire agreement. These Terms together with the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and CrazyOCR regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
  • Waiver. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. We may assign these Terms and your account to an acquirer or successor entity upon a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign your account without our written consent.
